David Mitchell had been thinking about buying a hybrid electric car for a while. He was also aware of the moves to make the City of Adelaide a carbon neutral city, a goal that would depend on significant reductions in vehicle emissions over time.

‘When the Sustainability Incentives Scheme came along, the financial incentive to install a home charging dock for my electric car was welcome news. Having made the decision to invest in the car, this was a bonus,’ says David.

David reports that the installation is working well and running a hybrid electric car was a good choice. ‘In the five months since I bought the hybrid car, I have never had to refill the petrol tank.’

Reducing his carbon emissions means David is also playing his part in contributing to a Carbon Neutral Adelaide.
