Carbon Neutral Adelaide Awards

Being held for the first time in 2017, the Carbon Neutral Adelaide Awards will celebrate the contributions by Carbon Neutral Adelaide Partners, individuals and households to our shared aspiration for the City of Adelaide to become the world’s first carbon neutral city.

The Carbon Neutral Adelaide Awards will recognise the roles of all City users to reduce carbon emissions in the City of Adelaide and will acknowledge leadership and accomplishment, including action directly within organisations, supply chains, advocacy, professional life and household practices.

The Awards showcase our City’s capacity to achieve and benefit from reducing emissions through technological change, entrepreneurial endeavour, sustainable business practices and high performing work environments.

Award categories

The 2017 Carbon Neutral Adelaide Awards have five categories including:

Partner of the Year Award - An award for the most significant carbon emissions reduction achievement in the City of Adelaide.

Leadership & Influence Award - An award to acknowledge the leadership of an organisation or individual whose early advocacy and effective demonstration of carbon emissions reduction has influenced many and set a new industry standard.

Low Carbon Economy Award - An award for the most outstanding example of an organisation which has embraced the transition to the low carbon economy and is successfully decoupling their growth from their carbon emissions.

Applied Innovation Award - An award to recognise the early application of innovative products, services or solutions that are reducing carbon emissions.

The New Normal Award - An award for households or individuals who demonstrate an aspirational example of sustainable low carbon or carbon neutral living that others could follow and whose choices are contributing to City of Adelaide carbon emissions reductions.

Application Process

Entries for the 2017 Carbon Neutral Adelaide Awards have now closed. The winners will be announced by the Minister for Climate Change and the Lord Mayor on 17 November at the Town Hall.

The Carbon Neutral Adelaide Awards event will incorporate the CitySwitch Green Office Awards.
