What Mott MacDonald are doing to reduce carbon emissions

Mott MacDonald are committed to initiate, support and share in our city’s successes as we lead the transformation to a Carbon Neutral Adelaide and a low carbon economy. They will achieve this by cutting their operational emissions, as well as by delivering sustainable developments for clients that contribute the city’s carbon neutral commitment.

They believe it is their responsibility to reduce their emissions and resource use. Their Group commitment to reduce operational emissions by 5% per capita year on year increases their efficiency which in turn reduces costs, saving money for customers.  This is important to many of their customers who are now counting their suppliers’ carbon footprints when auditing their own. 

To achieve their targeted carbon reduction, they will:

  1. Achieve consistent and verifiable carbon data management
  2. Assess their global carbon footprint, with resolution down to office level
  3. Provide transparent information about their carbon footprint
  4. Introduce energy assessments and measures to reduce energy demand in the buildings they move into
  5. Improve IT infrastructure, including collaborative communication, and reduce the need for travel
  6. Provide easily accessible and regular updates on their carbon performance and pragmatic measures to improve it
  7. Introduce carbon assessments and reduction targets among criteria for the selection of potential suppliers.
