Renewable Cities Australia believes the transition to a low carbon economy is essential for Australia’s clean energy future and recognises Carbon Neutral Adelaide as one of the most advanced programs in achieving this outcome. Renewable Cities Australia aims to inspire key people in business, local government and industry to take action towards a clean energy and renewable future, goals that align with those of Carbon Neutral Adelaide. To inspire leadership and drive change, Renewable Cities Australia features the successes of the City of Adelaide and other cities, towns, and business in integrating renewable energy, driving the adoption of energy efficient products and encouraging low carbon transport solutions.
Renewable Cities Australia’s annual two-day event showcases and shares the plans, achievements and challenges of Australian cities and towns who are using renewable energy and smart thinking about energy solutions to become carbon neutral. Held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, the 2018 event includes a forum, electric vehicle workshop and a free exhibition showcasing innovative energy products for the urban environment and the charging infrastructure needed for electric vehicles of all sizes.
With the theme of “Taking Charge of Our Energy Future’, the 2018 forum will attract government, business, educational institutions and industry representatives from across Australia and overseas to participate in panel discussions, network with businesses and with local government leaders, and attend tours to key sites around Adelaide. Important topics to be discussed in 2018 include how businesses are taking leadership, why renewable energy PPAs are important and how to progress the uptake of electric vehicles in Australia.
