Rawtec works with organisations across Australia to reduce waste generation and improve landfill diversion, which reduce carbon emissions. This includes:

• shaping government policy and strategic direction, at all levels, in relation to waste management and infrastructure
• guiding public and private enterprise in understanding waste generation and opportunities to improve diversion performance
• promoting and delivering better practice outcomes for waste, recycling and resource management
• ensuring developers, architects and planners receive the best advice on waste management for new and existing developments.

Rawtec is involved in discussions and actions to work towards a circular economy in South Australia, with Senior Consultant at Rawtec Kat Heinrich speaking at the Circular Economy conference in Adelaide. Rawtec’s consultants are also part of many volunteer groups that help reduce carbon emissions such as the International Solid Waste Association, Waste Management Association of Australia and Adelaide Sustainability Connect.

Rawtec also leads by example in committing to sustainability and effective waste management. With a better practice bin system, rooftop solar panels, minimal printing and paying for carbon offsets for air travel, reducing carbon emissions is within the business’ core values and embedded in the everyday operation of the office.
