GoGet's mission is to enable a societal shift away from private vehicle and fleet ownership towards shared mobility that will make communities more sustainable, liveable and save members time and money.
What GoGet is doing to reduce carbon emissions
GoGet’s aim is to provide a reliable, convenient and affordable transport service that:
- allows people to live car-free
- decreases car usage
- improves local air quality
- removes private cars from local streets
- increases patronage for public transport
- allows people to lead more active lives.
GoGet’s car share service operates using fuel efficient, modern vehicles including plug in hybrids. Each GoGet car share vehicle takes between 10 and 14 private vehicles off the road. After members sign up to GoGet, they reduce their total vehicle kilometres travelled by up to 50% and use public and active transport more regularly. A household can reduce its overall greenhouse gas emissions by a third by using car share.
