As one of the largest and cheapest ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency is central to any conceivable solution to climate change, as well as delivering broader benefits of productivity, comfort and health to the community.
The Energy Efficiency Council is committed to action on climate change and highlighting energy efficiency's central role in a zero net emissions future. To achieve this, the Council works across Australia to ensure sensible, cost effective energy efficiency measures become standard practice across the Australian economy. The Council provides information to businesses and households, trains energy efficiency professionals and works with government to develop and deliver robust energy efficiency policy and programs. The Council’s recommendations for local, state, and commonwealth governments are contained in the Australian Energy Efficiency Policy Handbook.
