Bowden Print Group seeks to lead by example and continuously improve, believing that a sustainable world needs sustainable business.
The Bowden Print Group’s ‘B-Sustainable Initiative’ is a long term approach to balancing business priorities with social, economic, environmental and industry responsibilities. Bowden’s environmental certification plays a major role within this framework and the next step of environmental focus is implementing processes and workflows that reduce Bowden Print Group’s carbon footprint.
Bowden is a quality and environmentally certified company and is well positioned to reduce carbon emissions.
The Bowden Print Group’s carbon emission reduction focus started with management level framing of key objectives and targets and with the gathering of data to form an internal baseline and help identify where improvements can be made. Bowden recognises that as a manufacturing company, electricity use accounts for the majority of the company’s carbon emissions with heating, cooling and transportation also contributing significantly. Bowden Print Group is currently undertaking energy audits to identify ways to create energy efficiencies.
While this focus is internal, Bowden also recognises that being part of the supply chain for many local and national businesses both local and national means that there will also be broader impacts. The knowledge being gathered will enable Bowden to set targets, find ways to improve and also to measure the reductions achieved.
