What AECOM is doing to reduce carbon emissions

AECOM’s commitments to sustainability are embedding sustainability into their work with clients; building capability to provide creative, innovative sustainable solutions; and conducting business consistent with sustainability principles.

Business initiatives include a commitment to sustainable procurement and supplier diversity; and a company-wide Safety, Health and Environment Policy.

AECOM measures emissions and reports on progress, with a target to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2020. In Australia and New Zealand, the company runs a GO! green office program to improve practice in travel, energy, water, procurement and recycling, contributing to compliance with Australian Standard ISO14001.

Since 2012, AECOM has partnered with the Carbon Disclosure Project to analyse climate change data for over 500 cities and report on how urban centres are tackling their challenges. Partnering with the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities program, AECOM is collaborating with mayors and chief resilience officers in 16 global cities to assess baseline strategies and improve resilience.
