Why GOGO Events is supporting Carbon Neutral Adelaide
GOGO Events has core social and environmental values and a mission to build a more equitable society. As a result, GOGO Events trains and employs people who are traditionally excluded from the workforce and has embedded environmental sustainability into business practices. GOGO Events seeks to show that consciously driving a business that values the planet, people and profit is achievable and responsible. GOGO Events’ commitment to the Carbon Neutral Adelaide ambition is a natural extension of these values and ethos of leading by example.
What GOGO Events is doing to reduce carbon emissions
GOGO Events has run many events in the past 5 years that reflect commitment to environmental values. GOGO Events strives to ensure that events are designed and managed to be energy efficient and produce as little waste as possible. GOGO Events also aligns with venues, partners and providers that share these values. Alongside event operations, GOGO events is assisting with the ongoing development of Sustainable Event Guidelines for the City of Adelaide, which aim to ensure more sustainable event practices into the future.
A recent example is the Climate Adaptation Conference 2017. Working with the University of Adelaide’s Vulnerable Communities Network, GOGO Events provided services and hand made products. A study of GOGO Events’ vulnerable staff making the conference bags for the event was also included in a discussion with delegates.
